Moral Laurels

Deep deep down they really know
All that’s right or wrong
They get rutted in their beliefs
They feel so righteous and strong

Now and then they pick and choose
The standards they apply
They withhold grace and favor from the other side
But give it to their guy

Feeling so good and so so right
They rest upon their laurels
But in their loathsome laziness
They give up their real morals

Choose life choose life they yell and scream
Every march they’re in attendance
But when it comes to heinous felonies
They cheer for the death sentence

They preach that God loves only straights
Everyone else abomination
But turn away with their blind eyes
From ALL God’s words about their station

They loudly vociferate
That God’s the one they love
But with actions show each and every day
They worship what’s below not above

So when you’re feeling bold
And deserving of showers of florals
Climb upon your pedestal
And put on your Moral Laurels
