Just Start

Like many, you’re probably waiting until January 1, 2025 to start your new thing. New schedule. New diet. New workout. New routine.

Maybe just start today. We all know the whole, “Tomorrow’s not guaranteed,” thing. It’s not. And, why wait? Today is Sunday. Some people call this the first day of the week. Tomorrow is Monday. Some people call that the first day of the week. Are you waiting until the first of something? The first day of the week, month, year? If you so choose, today could be the first day of your new whatever.

What’s really stopping you? I have a feeling it’s not that you’re waiting for an arbitrary day that’s only significance is upholding an organizational social construct.

Just start it today. How about right now?

Because why not?

And also, tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Just think how many people didn’t see 2025.

**Author’s note: Again, I had another post for today. Sometimes, ya just can’t publish what you want to publish when you want to publish it. It was a poem about particular dynamics at play, most prevalent this time of year.
