Glimpse of my Marley

My attention was to my left,
but the movement was on the right.
It was a flicker, a wisp,
Neither dim nor bright.
There was form but no line,
A shadow of light.
I saw a person,
A figure? Not quite.
A wraith in the dark? No.
Twas day, not night.
Hairs raised on the neck,
Lamps will glow tonight.
Will they return,
To ignite further fright?
Without a doubt,
For vicious delight.
