It’s the wave you don’t see
That changes nearly everything
Sweeping in from out of sight
All your life, deluging
The crash of it’s not good or bad
Surprises more than anything
All life is different after that
All paths are ever varying
Some push up high right to the sky
Others sink down, burying
Hanging on when it recedes
Hopes on your shoulders, ferrying
The current’s strong
No tarrying
Debris attacks
Left parrying
The unknown
Can leave your head lost and reeling
So keep an eye out for the wave
For it can be a deadly thing
